Wolf Blitzer has an exclusive e-mail from Bhutto. She send it to him in October and asked CNN to make it public if something happens to her. In the e-mail she blames Musharraf for her death.
This is really shocking, especially when The SituationRoom startyed and Wolf said that he know something and he can tell us now.

Woah, that's quite an exclusive! We won't have heard the last of this... Thanks for alerting me to this.

Watched one of the Have you Say broadcast, it looked so hastily arranged and lasted no more then 5 minutes, hardly a good attempt to get as many viewers opinion in that amount of time, they should have dedicated half an hour instead.

As to Benzir Bhutto, its very sad that this has happened, this could cause a very nasty situation within the country and indeed de-stabilise the whole region.

Channel 4 News has just started, with Jon Snow presenting. It's so far the best coverage, even if there wasn't a breaking news item.

Well there was a news report - something C4 do alot more now than they used to actually. They pretty much used to take the attitude that the BBC / ITV did that, so they wouldn't bother.

Anyhow, I bet C4 are glad they opted for scheduling a 30 minute bulletin tonight, rather than just a 10-minute summary.

ITV also have a full bulletin at 11pm, so have the BBC extended their late bulletin?

Also, was Jon Snow scheduled to present C4 News today?

Back to the ITV News Channel issue - or in this case more about the ITN News Channel, but I think comments in this thread show that a rolling headline channel is also valuable in times like this, offering complete 15 or 30 minute round-ups while other channels switch to open ended coverage.

How on earth can you blame someone for your own death several months before hand? Very irresponsible reporting from CNN considering the potential for civil war in Pakistan.

OMG, watch CNN!!!!

I watched BBC World/News 24 simulcast and CNN and gotta say that BBC had the best coverage.

I think BBC coverage was well done. The pictures came in faster than CNN. CNN then not have access to the Reuters feed and news.
eg. the blast pics and the interview with Nawaz Sherif, even my ABC local station in Philadelphia was using the BBC interview in its coverage.

I understand your point of view here. Just for the sake of factuality within the argument, this is the exact text from the email Bhutto sent:

"Nothing will, God willing, happen. Just wanted you to know, if it does, in addition to the names in my letter to Musharraf of October 16, I would hold Musharraf responsible. I have been made to feel insecure by his minions. And there is no way what is happening, in terms of stopping me from taking private cars or using tinted windows or giving jammers or four police mobiles to cover all sides, could happen without him."

Sky News still have their BREAKING NEWS ticker up reporting she has been killed. How long does it warrant as Breaking? Confused

This has probably already been discussed, I apologise.

I really feel this is when BBC News really excels (when there's a major, continually developing story.

Just a shame that I notice Tim has come back on News 24. Has Peter Dobbie gone back to BBC World...is the simulcast over?

Tim Willcox came back on N24 after the simulcast ended at 6pm? Why did they call Karin Giannone to present for just an hour then?
NE
News24
Mike did 14.00 - 17.00
Karin did 17.00 - 22.00
Tim did 14.00 - 21.30, except Peter Dobbie was in his place between 5 and 6, before he carried on his shift over on World. Ben Geoeghan took over fromTim on N24 at 21.30

Oh come on, Tim wasn't the one who decided he would take over Jonathan, it was clearly the decision of whoever was in charge. I think Tim was at ITV as a correspondent once, but I'm not sure if he was based abroad.

On a different note Mishal Husain is now broadcasting from Islamabad for News 24.
