No, but I don't think Tim did that bad yesterday, though admittedly during the breaking news of Saddam's execution he was awful.
I was just making the point that however much he wanted to 'break the news' he wasn't the one who chose to takeover from Jonathan, it was someone elses decision.

Umm yea so the person in charge told Tim to butt-in and try to act far superior than his co-presenter?
I don't think so.

Interesting to see the Christmas tree back in the News 24 studio this morning... Just when we thought it had gone for good!

This is because it is no longer a simulcast.
Mishal has just thrown back to Jonathan Charles who has replaced Charlie. He welcomed viewers back to News 24. Christmas Tree is still there.

Ahh, OK, so it was because it was a simulcast with BBC World that they took the tree out of the studio, and not because it would look wrong having a brightly lit tree in the studio while introducing a serious news story?

What is wrong with people thinking a Christmas tree is out of place in a newsroom? It's not a comedy item, it's a traditional symbol.

I don't see anything wrong with it personally, but some people may think it inappropriate to have such a brightly lit festive item in shot when there's such a serious news story going on, hence why I thought it had been removed.
But it turns out the reason why it may have been removed was because they were simulcasting on BBC World, and as I believe has been said elsewhere on here, not everyone around the world would understand why there was this brightly lit tree in the studio.
