That must just leave Bristol and Plymouth to change then.

St Helier's already changed locally, but can't broadcast in 6:9 till the Plymouth gallery changes.

Is Manchester not still 4:3 as well? I'm a little behind the times on such matters since binning off Sky.

Nope, Manchester has been broadcating full 16:9 for over a year now. But the graphics are still a mess.

Regions still broadcasting in 14:9 are West, South West and South. This includes the sub-opts from Oxford and Jersey. Ironically, both these sub-opts are ready to switch, but they're both waiting for their parent programmes to be ready before they can reconfigure everything. As it happens, Bristol, Plymouth and Southampton all have plans to switch to 16:9.

Plymouth, according to an unrelated e-mail I received last week, will switch in May 2007.

Almost... There's a slight bevel at the edges of the red strap, plus the text on the grey strap isn't in capitals.

That doesn't look half bad. This is real dodginess:

Southampton was supposed to switch this month according to my sources, but we're fast running out of days now !

At the end of look north (ne and cumbria) Carol Malia cracked some joke about how she is normally a size 00 if it wasn't for the widescreen........

Oh yes, I'd forgotten about dear old Southampton.

Talking of which, does anyone know if Emma Douglas, the ex-Spotlight Channel Islands presenter, is now the Weymouth reporter for just Spotlight or both Spotlight and South Today?

It seems amongst the excitement of switching to widescreen, nobody in Newcastle has noticed that the national headline bed has changed. Sounds terrible switching back to the old one half-way through the headline sequence.

She often presents the morning, and 22:25 ST bulletins. Not seen her on any Weymouth reports yet. Funny area that. The town's terrestrial relay is tied to Plymouth, yet Weymouth post codes map Sky 101 to Southampton.

I was under the impression that BBC South West were not going to change to full widescreen until they move to their new studios.

No idea when that was meant to be happening.

Will NE and Cumbria be getting a new studio, as BBC Londons studio have just had a makeover.
