The BBC appears to have launched a new promo for the regional news. With an assortment of presenters and reporters from the regions talking about a story or person in the region.

What or who is your regions about?

London is unsurprisingly about the impact of the Olympics in 2012 and perhaps surprisingly doesn't feature its Olympics Reporter Adrian Warner Laughing

Instead we have Riz Lateef, Victoria Hollins, Mark Bright and Tom Edwards in the promo.

What music are your regions using? South Today is, worryingly, using the current BBC London tag and I really don't want them to adopt a stupid baking tray style they currently have.

Well perhaps unsurprisingly London is using the current London tag too!

I was rather hoping for some new music in London, never been keen on this 2005 stuff, the original was much better, but perhaps its going to spread Sad

Midlands Today are using a remix of the 2004 Regions package. Featuring Nick Owen, Suzanne Virdee, Shefali, Ashley Blake, among others!

Spotlight are (happily, thankfully) using their 2002 music package, which sounds the best out of the lot IMO.

Look North Leeds refers to the flooding of last summer, with Christa Ackroyd, Harry Gration, Jenny Hill, Ian White, and another young lady, whose name escapes me. The 2004 (current) package is used.

The whole 2005 look is awful, especially the music.

To hear what could have been, have a listen to BBC London 94.9, they still had the original BBC LDN theme until recently when they brought in a new version which great

If I'm thinking of the right one, it's a bit cheesy. "It humbles you and it downright makes you proud" is the last sentence if I remember correctly!

East Midlands Today have the restoration of a Vulcan Bomber in Leicestershire. It made it's first flight in preservation last october.

It's a strange choice, though, since the Trust which owns the bomber is appealing for money to be able to exhibit it at shows this year.

The other reporter is Roopa Runjani (spelling?). I'm surprised Paul Hudson doesn't feature in the trail, they must have filmed it while he was on one of his regular days off.
