Why when BBC News overnight was coming from World, and only going out on World, did they use News 24's ticker and we got the dog that covers the clock?

They also used the overnight dog for most of this morning... why!

I'm only guessing here, but I suspect that last night's bulletins would have been produced by the same News 24 team that usually does overnights, regardless of the fact that it was coming from N9 and only going out on World. Therefore, they may have just done everything as they usually do. If I'm not mistaken, the overnight World DOG is inserted by playout rather than the news gallery, so they may not have been aware of the fact that it was only going out on World.

Yeah, Karin even stated "welcome to BBC News from BBC World". Nice opening eye level shot of the desk.

"Thomas Pink" was on duty presenting the news yet again on BBC World yesterday.

One humorous moment was when he was reading a piece about how certain impotent men bitten by a rare type of spider were thereafter able to sustain erections for hours afterwards.

And then he turned to Egon Cosseau for the business news and said: "well, try to follow that Egon!"

This made the normally nervous Egon even more jittery.

I also noticed the lighting appeared to be much crisper on World yesterday.

The bulletin at 1400 GMT must have been the shortest one in the history of BBC World. It was literally no more than 30 seconds before going into Panorama. Jonathan Charles could only read one headline and there was no opening title. In fact, the countdown was longer than the bulletin: 45 seconds! I think it would have been much better to have just dropped the news altogether this hour as nothing could be learnt from a 30 second news bulletin.

That's funny lol
They made the bulletin reluctantly. Therfore they will have an excuse and will say "We did put the news EVERY HOUR"

I wish they would say BBC News from BBC World all the time, at the moment its a farcical situation of the titles saying BBC WORLD during normal World Hours and then for five hours of the day they see sense and call it BBC NEWS!

Oh dear god, are you STILL going on about that? You have been banging that drum for literally years, and as far as I can tell you seem to be only person on this forum, perhaps in the world, who actually gives it any consideration.

Is it not time to move on? Have you not wasted enough of your life - and everyone else's - on this issue?
