Mishal did World News Today, standing quite a distance from the desk. It looked great.

World doesn't actually look too bad in TC7, but what about when Working Lunch , Newsnight and Newsround start again? Will the work be done by then? Or will those have to simulcast on World (!?)

World are going back to N9 tomorrow.

That's a relief.

Bugger, the Friday night WNT was just Peter at the desk.. boring really... was the backdrop different?

It did look great. Finally a large and bright studio for WNT. Shame it won't last long. First time I saw Mishal Husain on WNT (admittedly I don't watch it very often). I think she's perfect for the programme, beautiful and authoritative. Is George Alagiah still the main presenter?

I wish WNT would stay in this set. It's great looking.

I agree with this, It would look great in the nationals set. The current skyline is a bit boring.

Yes, George is still the main presenter but it is a bank holiday in Britain today. That means he won't be doing the Six O'Clock News tonight (there isn't one, in fact) so he isn't in the building to do WNT.

Yowzers! That is a huge huge improvement. I've always thought news channels are visually more impressive with real newsroom backdrops, but I really liked BBC World coming from TC7 this weekend. The studio was well used especially using the sofa for Sport Today and the WBR. Fingers crossed this sort of thing will be incorporated into BBC World's revamped studio, whenever that arrives...
