Will they still go back to the main BBC World set?

No, they are going to stay there for 30 years Rolling Eyes ... read the thread and youll see its just for the weekend.

Hey! I know they're coming back! I saw them in Newsnight studio... Weird. Not a good place for World... They might have to fix their studio...

What are you on about? N9 isn't broken. They've simply decamped to TC7 over the bank holiday weekend so that some maintenance work can be carried out. It's only routine stuff. This sort of thing regularly happens.

It actually looks quite amazing. I wouldn't be surprised if they and N24 would adapt this design for a set, as I heard that BBC World and N24 will get a new set in late 07 or Early to Mid 08. It works really, really well, and the darker reds look more authoratative.

All of BBC News programmes produced in the West London News Centre will get new studios next year. The entire news operation moves into the new buildings adjacent to the newly revamped Broadcasting House.

Well from what I've been told, it has been delayed, and probably won't move back until around 2010-2012. I know somebody who works in the newsroom there, and has told me that there will be at least 1 more set revamp for N24 and World.
from wikipedia
Quote:
Broadcasting House is currently undergoing a major renovation. Scheduled for completion in 2009/2010, it is currently expected to be finished in 2011. As part of a major reorganisation of BBC property, Broadcasting House is to become home to BBC News (both television and radio), which will relocate from the News Centre at Television Centre; national radio; and the BBC World Service, which will move from Bush House.

I hope this 'maintenance' involves fixing the lighting, either the cameras settings or the lighting itself, cos atm they are all pink in N9.

I take it World are also using the jib that newsround uses in TC7? The high shot from the beginning of the Sport Today looks nice. Is the jib used for anything else?

Slightly OT: Classic quote from the comments section on one of those clips on youtube:

Am I the only one who's starting to think that the eye and aric2007 are actually the same person, a sort of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde?

Is there a person in the newsroom whose role is taking care of the make-up? If so that person definitely exceeded with Alastair Yates's make up tonight, he looks kinda like a bronze statue, the contrast between his ear and the rest of the face is breathtaking.

I feel insulted.. i've been accused once before of being another member here, now this. Great. Rolling Eyes aric2007 is some 14year old Philippino (sp?) I'm an 18year old living in NZ... go away and think about what you said.

I hope they hurry up and make Juliette Foster a news presenter on BBC World. She could do the weekend slots that are currently handled by umpteen "visiting" anchors (Deborah Mackenzie / Manisha Tank / Philippa Thomas / Tony Campion / Tanya Beckett)

World doesn't actually look too bad in TC7, but what about when Working Lunch , Newsnight and Newsround start again? Will the work be done by then? Or will those have to simulcast on World (!?)
