no doubt they would like to, but the cost must be about 10 times the usual cost of producing the programmes from N9

ah yes because BBC World is produced by one overworked director!

I've always asked myself if news readers participate in "making" a bulletin. I mean if they prepare the questions they ask to the people they interview or if they just read questions written by someone else in the newsroom.
Also, do they choose how to introduce a story or do they choose how much relevance a story should be given?

Well floating around here somewhere when bbc.co.uk was streaming the gallery feed of BBC World, Lyse was seen/heard questioning the opening headlines.

And if the journalists are good journalists then I would expect them to ask their own questions.

And I don't think the presenter gets much say in running order on news channels, but I do know that the scheduled national bulletins where they have meetings the presenter gets abit of a say in the running order and Huw Edwards at least writes his own introductions on the 10.

Huw Edwards: "I'd go mad if I just turned up and read the news". A quote I seem to remember from donkeys years back.

Hey! I know they're coming back! I saw them in Newsnight studio... Weird. Not a good place for World... They might have to fix their studio...
