I don't see what the problem is with World News Today coming from the second set. If it came from the main set it would just be the same as BBC World News. They currently use the second set to distinguish it from normal bulletins. It has always been this way on BBC World - during the flags era, The World Today came from a different set to BBC World News.
Well its brighter on the other side is one reason I guess, well ok keep it on the second set but use the default headlines sequence!
Ah yes, I agree with you there. I thought you had a problem with them using a different set for WNT. Your problem is actually with the quality of the WNT set. That, I agree with. That second set really does need replacing with something brighter and less cosy. Quite how they would accomplish that, I don't know, because the space they have to work with is very small and gloomy.
That's right itsrobert, it's the quality of the second set which is the problem, the problem is with lighting, although I wouldn't know how to go about improving the lighting as the BBC World newsroom seems to only have artifical lighting but it is brighter coming from the other end.
The first edition of WNT is now on at 11.00GMT due to the US having brought day light savings forward by three weeks. At the moment there is only a four hour difference between New York and London. This should all change again once BST comes round.
Yeah, I noticed. That's why George said "It's 7:00am (actually 6:00am in Washington, 8:00pm in Tokyo (?), and 11:00am here in London." I don't know why World News Today airs at 7:00pm (Alagiah) and I assume 4:00am (Gowing) here in the Philippines. Oh, by the way, any word on Alan Johnston? He's been missing for like how long.
NOTE: Alagiah means 1st edtion while Gowing means 2nd edition (both for World News Today).
When the graphics relaunched in January I counted 3 subtle variations of the headline vamp - one for TWT, one for normal bulletins and a more 'beepy' version for WNT. My point - does anyone know when and why they dropped the new World News Today vamp in favour of yet another one which doesn't sound half as good or pacey?

About a week later, they have more than 3 beds on BBC World, similiar sounding but you can notice the difference and they still use the beepy WNT one.
