perhaps the plight of palestinian women is deemed un-newsworthy these days Sad

Looks like BBC World Pres have introduced a coloured BBC WORLD dog to match that on the main BBC World News bulletin, but sometimes it appears unnecessarily like for example on Sport Today, you could still see the gallery animate the real one underneath as the one generated by pres is three pixels too tall in height and not enough pixels lengthwise!

Yea its silly, they have it placed where the BBC World water mark was which was more off to the left. looks very silly

To quote the Chuckle Bros. "dear oh dear". I like the watermark, it's good to have a sort of distinction between programmes.

On the topic of The World, I think it's a shame they are cancelling it. To have a stand alone programme with it's own outlook (ie Newsnight vs. BBC One bulletins) was quite refreshing. World News Today however seems more inline with everyother BBC World News broadcast. All seriousness aside, it's a sad moment in broadcast journalism when we can no longer find out just how hard it is for mothers to buy corn flour in Gaza. Oh wait, there's always Every Woman on AJE. I suppose in that sense The World is now redundant.

World News Tonight, I don't like the headlines sequence at all, it sounds stupid, why cant they stick on the usual headlines sequence and present from the other side, rather then the second studio!

Well, presenting it from the usual World News side and having World News Today image on the Plasma would work just fine.

I don't see what the problem is with World News Today coming from the second set. If it came from the main set it would just be the same as BBC World News. They currently use the second set to distinguish it from normal bulletins. It has always been this way on BBC World - during the flags era, The World Today came from a different set to BBC World News.

Well its brighter on the other side is one reason I guess, well ok keep it on the second set but use the default headlines sequence!

Ah yes, I agree with you there. I thought you had a problem with them using a different set for WNT. Your problem is actually with the quality of the WNT set. That, I agree with. That second set really does need replacing with something brighter and less cosy. Quite how they would accomplish that, I don't know, because the space they have to work with is very small and gloomy.
