Most of BBC World News since overnight has had the BBC World watermark slapped on top of the dog, so it looks like BBBC World.

I just wonder would it be good to call their main news programme BBC WORLD NEWS as oppose to what it currently says which is just BBC WORLD, on the breakfiller it still says BBC News, or perhaps put BBC WORLD where it is and put Putting News First at the bottom in Gil Sans and then changing the main ident to fit what is currently put on BBC World News, so it looks a little more consistent.

Maybe updating the breakfiller to BBC World News would fit in easier, since the titles are already BBC World... Wink

Apparently during this morning's earthquake in Indonesia, Asia Business Report was live on air but had to end the broadcast early due to the tremors. I guess it's unlikely anyone has a clip of it though.

Does anyone agree with me that the breakfillers are too long. I doubt that anywhere in the world the time allotted is filled with commercials.

Nope, we get lots of ads in the Asia Pacific region.

Foxtel (in Australia) loves nothing more than to dump in a whole bunch of channel cross-promotions.

It does make an appearance fairly often, though, usually during adbreaks within programs.

The BBC announced today that the BBC4 programme The World is to end.

The programme will be replaced by an edition of World News Today which will be broadcast at 1900 on both BBC World and BBC Four.

Thank God for that! I can't stand The World - never have liked it. I always skip the 2000 GMT hour and wait until later to tune in when I know it will either be WNT or BBC World News. Perhaps the channel can now get back to a proper service like they did before 2002.

So, if, as you say, they put on WNT an hour earlier at 1900 GMT, I presume they'll still keep the 2100 GMT WNT? If so, what will go in between at 2000 GMT, the current slot held by The World? Will it just be World News?

I think it's a good idea. I'd much rather see a proper World news bulletin from N9 than the excuse for a programme that was The World from that awful studio. To be honest I think they should have an hour of World News, half an hour is too brief to cover global issues.
