Maryam Moshiri. Maryam. Maryam. Maryam.
I actually tuned in and saw Myriam (Maryam) today for the first time in a long time. She has changed appearance somewhat since the last time. Same wooden and monotone delivery though....

Nik Gowing has just introduced a Hardtalk, which is following his bulletin,a nd which will be presented by Sarah Montague.
Fifteen seconds later, Montague had changed into Jonathan Charles!! (who incidentally is blooody good, interviewing a Syrian politician).
He is far better than Stephen Sackur.
Edit: The interviewee is repeatedly calling Jonathan Charles, "Sir Charles".

I don't want cat murdering biggots in here either thank you.
Yes but it's still discussing the presenters moving around. I mean fair enough when there's a big change like when everyone permanently moved round on the BBC1 bulletins, but this minor details of the news channels is extremely boring.
Please refer to metropol or James Hall's thread on this

I just saw it in World Business Report a while ago. Dharshini is the one bringing the look at the US markets.

A bit crowded around the World newsdesk there tonight.
Peter Dobbie, sandwiched-in between a Business Presenter on one side and a Sports Presenter on the other.
No wonder he wasn't as smily as usual tonight.......

Normally they have the main anchor alongside the plasma, and then the secondary presenter (sports or biz) in the only other seat at the opposite end of the desk. The sports and biz presenters just hotseat when the other is finished.
However tonight, a live broadcast from Middle East over-ran, so there was no time for the Sports Presenter to vacate her seat in time for the biz, so the biz man (Jamie Roberston) appeared straight after the sports on the other side of Peter Dobbie, directly in front of the plasma with the same (the plasma) as his backdrop. It was quite good actually.
That's all.........

do they all crowd around the desk on World? I thought they still used the old technique from the dodgems desk where they had the main presenter in one half, and then the other person on the other.
The desk in N9 is a lot smaller than the N24 one is it not?
