Yeah, that's right, I forgot they changed the Asia Today schedule after WNT was introduced.
I've noticed that almost every newsreader says "Welcome to BBCWorld" at the beginning of the bulletins instead of "BBC News from BBC World". The BBCNews logo has even disappeared from the sting.

Yes but we aren't going to get into the BBC News / BBC World thing are we!
I think their welcome is on the auto-cue cos all the presenters say something along the lines of "Hello Welcome to BBC World i'm ***** **** also in this programme" and in the weekend they do their intro after the titles saying "Welcome to BBC World News from me **** ****" Its similar to that anyway!

Well it just says BBC World in the titles now, you would have thought they put BBC News on top though

I think it's far more clear now, none of the confusion of "This is BBC World from BBC News" or "This is BBC News from BBC World" or even worse "This is BBC World News from BBC World/News". The channel is BBC World!
I wish for the love of God they would update their website!!! It's such a poor site for such a credible channel. I've always thought it would be much better if bbcworld.com lead to something similar to the World Service's site, ie the news and station/channel information are integrated into one source. This would get rid of the two websites we have now (bbcworld.com and bbcnews.com) and instead have one streamlined site. Oh, but what do I know!

Anyone notice the first thunderclap on World News Today actually sounds like real thunder?!
Also I really like the sweeps/swooshes in the new mix of the countdown, they sound so much different compared to previous mix where they all sounded really fake. There is even a swoosh that sounds like real wind.

bbcworld.com is a commercial site so has to be kept separate from the news site

Good heavens, no.
Katty Kay is a big asset for the BBC in America.
First she is the anchor for BBC WORLD on PBS and BBC AMERICA.
Second she is a star of sort on American sunday morning talk shows. she is a regular panalist on NBC's MEET THE PRESS AND THE CHRIS MATTHEW SHOW were they pay her per appearance. If you made it on those show you are part of the whose who of the DC press corp. They love her because she's an outsider with the different perspective on american events. Her accent ain't bad either. She beautiful on the eye . No other BBC presenter could have done that. Mishal Husien was in DC but she left. she can't come back because the majority of the people who watch the news on PBS is the core political and influtial audience.
The BBC cannot afford to loose her. that is why she does all the specials from US.
