I still can't say that I really like the way the presenter welcomes you to the news: "This is BBC World. Welcome from me, XXXX" (although, it is a vast improvement on 'This is BBC News from BBC World. I'm XXXX. The latest international headlines"). What's wrong with going back to what they always said, "Welcome to BBC World News, I'm XXXX". I think that sounds more natural.
The whole BBC News output has become more dramatic with these recent changes and its nice to hear that some of the original sounds making their way back in from the original wave of BBC News material.
It does share similarities with Sky but then every news channel is going the same way with tickers and straps at the bottom of the screen. News 24 already had straps like this accross the screen and in the same colour scheme so it's nothing majorly new but it's a vast improvement.

A bulletin I saw yesterday was just like the old ones: straight into the headlines, sting and "And welcome to BBC World News, I'm Al Yates".
There's no new breakfiller for the moment. Probably my fault, I wrote a misleading post in the previous page. The only thing that changed is the ident appering every 15 secs.
Jonathan seems to be on a high too! Did anyone just see that toth? Instead of the normal graphic we would see in the headline transition, it was one of the back drops they use on the projections during The World.
And I'm sure I just saw Manisha moving a box in the newsroom!
Since when Asia Today is at 1630GMT? I'm sure it was at 1530GMT until not long ago...
It's been at 1630GMT for ages now, hasn't it? During the summer, it was on at 1730 here in the UK, but that still equates to 1630GMT. It used to be at 1430GMT a couple of years ago, but it then moved to 1630GMT.
