What DOG are they using during the non-news programmes such as Click and FastTrack? I wonder what BBC America will have on screen to cover up the new DOG as previously they just whacked a huge red square saying BBC America over the tower.
They stopped that dog in late 05. They just have a little transparent DOG in the top right corner.
When I first heard the vamp with thunderclaps this afternoon, I thought it was strange how the presenter didn't crash them like they used to. When I counted, there are now 6 seconds between each thunderclap on the new vamp, compared to 5 seconds on the vamps between 2000 and 2007. It's much better, as it doesn't sound as shoddy now.
Being away from home I can't watch BBC World, but I saw the TWT TOTH, courtesy of Damian, and I have to say the music sounds amazing. The countdown is very pacey, shame they kept those red flashes with those odd woooosh sounds. I love the opening sting theme as well, similar to the national bulletins but with those low beats at the end, just before the presenter starts talking. Very intriguing.
Shame they kept a rolling text ticker, instead of changing it to one more similar to CNN's one, which can be read more easily and is far less annoying if you just want to watch the channel.

are there any caps of the thunderclapped headlines?
Quite why BBC1 cannot use these is beyond me.
As I mentioned in another thread, the reason given last time was that a change in vamp on the National News would mean having to ensure every region has a copy as well. I personally don't see what the problem is: surely it can't be that difficult to send a CD to each regional HQ?
A set of revised vamps were made by David Lowe for the 2004 refresh of the National News but the only one to make it to air was the promo vamp, which was (and still is) only used midway through the Ten. The One and Six continued to use the 1999 promo bed because they contained regional opt outs.

Forget CD, what's wrong with putting on the BBC website in a lossless format and then emailing the link to all the regions.

Indeed! I hadn't thought of that. What could be easier? There's no excuse for not updating the vamps.
BBC World News titles ends weird, it just says BBC WORLD at the end of it, I thought it would say BBC NEWS at the top and BBC WORLD at the bottom, and there's no ticker it seems?
