Very strange TOTH just now - after the countdown, Nick Gowing seemed to be caught
completely
off guard and he said "this is BBC News from BBC World" while he was still facing Jamie Robertson! And then all of the headline videos except for the 1st one were in the wrong order with wrong straps and everything. Then in the wide shot after the titles, you could see that Jamie was lazily resting his head on his hand looking almost annoyed! Then the strangest thing of all - Nick actually apologised for having 'the wrong video at the start of the programme'. I've never ever seen a newsreader apologise for something on BBC World before!
And I'd agree about Katty Kay, Manisha Tank and David Eades - they're always well dressed - so is Mishal too.

Nik Gowing often apologises when something wrong happens -which is quite frequently on BBC World-
Does anyone remember who presented on the night of New Year's Eve before these last three years? Awkward question (and probably incorrect from a grammar point of view), I know...

Quite often? are you still stuck in 2004? Its been a very long time since I have seen something wrong happen on BBC World apart from maybe the wrong strap to the wrong thing!
Also has anyone notice how out of focus one of the cameras its when its on the Business presenter? Not the shot when they turn to the side to look at the camera but it seems to be the camera they use for the two shots at the start.

About two days ago, after Martine Dennis's headline recap instead of getting Hardtalk we get Martine cleaning up the desk, then a shoot of the newsroom and finally a couple of minutes of "We apologise for the interruption".
I wouldn't say BBCWorld has sorted out all its technical problems...

Mike Embley did the midnight shift, as two years ago. Then Martine Croxall overnight.

Mr. Sheen makes everything Clean!! (sorry, couldn't resist it and my mind is filled with images of Martine wearing Hilda Ogden style scarf and curlers, as she furiously scrubs the desk clean.
Forgive me Maltese - it's one of those days!!!!

LOL - It would not be such a surreal scene, after all Adrian Finighan was seen live on CNN looking for something into a trash bin...
I could not see BBCWorld on the night of the execution of Saddam. Was there a sort of BBCnews special? Who was the presenter?

I'm not surprised, they are still probably using cameras dating back to the mid 90s!
