Whilst travelling in Europe earlier this month I was able to watch BBC world.
I normally watch News 24 and I found World to be of a much lower quality in terms of the look and presenters than news 24.
The two presenters I saw were an old bloke who seemed past it (Nick?) and young female presenter that looked dazed and seemed to have trouble pronouncing foreign names.
As I can’t normally watch this channel in the UK, I wondered why it was much poorer than the domestic output. Does the BBC use this channel, as it can’t be seen in the UK, as a way of training presenters, technicians, journalists etc until they’re good enough to work on proper news output?
Can any insiders shed any light?
