BBC World has just been carrying News 24 on the radiation search. Sophie is an excellent presenter.

Back now with Mike Embley in the World Newsroom.

Yes, Sophie is indeed an excellent presenter. We don't get to see much of her on BBC World.

Also loved Carrie Gracie's live reports from China, where she suddenly started to interview guests in Chinese!!! Didn't expect it, but nice viewing.

Was just looking at the BBC World Viewer Panel and one respondent simply left this message regarding the previous week's news - "Did not see Carrie Gracie at all." Someone does not seem happy!

See was especially good in what I saw of her in Beijing, her Mandarin is quite admirable, she even has quite a good northern dialect! It was a shame that the whole School Day: China coverage was completely overshadowed by other new. It was a very interesting concept.

About 5 seconds into the clip and Phil Hayton makes a pass at Isobel Lang years ago on BBC World's Newsdesk programme. Today it could be called sexual harassment!

About 16 and then 42 secs into this video and there are some ancient out takes from BBC World Service Television! The Riz Khan one made me laugh.

A good mix (although mainly N24) here. Trust Lindsey Brancher to never crack a smile. Keep an eye out for Simon McCoy's can of Elnett. Hope you enjoy.

Lindsey Brancher is great here! I just don't understand what Aaron says after "the pen just flew out"...

Who remembers Jamie Robertson's phobia of touching the desk? Now he seems to be leaning all over it! (well it looked that way the other day on WBR)

Anyone see the opening of WNT just now? Jonathan Charles is sitting on the desk with his legs spread out like when hes sitting at the desk but his arms out. He looks to be a very short man!

Carrie used to be a BBC Beijing correspondent ISTR - and is fluent in Mandarin I believe. (She has a scarily accomplished academic background - incorporating languages and new media design ISTR)

Yes, and her pronunciation of Chinese words is very good!

Lyse interviewed some of the Afghans surrounding her live report in Arabic yesterday.

Really? Also did not know that Lyse Doucet spoke Arabic. She hasn't been in the studio for quite some time actually.
