Sport Today is moving to 2215 before a full repeat of WBR at 2230, meaning News Extra is scrapped.

Not a good move, although the extra WNT sounds good. Maybe Peter Dobbie will get a proper shift?

I had no chance to watch BBC World today, how did they cover the death of Oriana Fallaci? I've been very disappointed by seeing that the event came almost unnoticed on the website. Both cnn.com and nytimes.com gave the story the importance I think it deserves.

And has been for a while, since she and Dharshini swapped for some reason.

Well the reason being is that Tanya is very boring to watch and she had been over there far to long and now its Dharshini's turn.

Loved the way Nik Gowing was almost sitting on the desk at the beginning of World News Today. Much better than standing up.

He looks to me as though he is almost about to fall off the desk actually.

My partner was quick to remark last night that Lyse Doucet has taken on a new look which makes her look like Linda ("Martin, it's Linda.....") the College Principle's assistant in "Little Britain", with her somewhat stern and no-nonsense clothing style.

Regardless, Lyse still continues to be the best of World's anchors at the moment. Sorry to note that her appearances seem to have reduced somewhat.

I am also enjoying the regularity of Nisha Pillai's appearances on BBC World. Those of you who are old-timers like me will remember that Nisha Pillai was one of the prime time mainstays in the old days (primetime Asia clock, that is), and she seems to bring her own unique style to the hours that she anchors.

World is good just now. Really enjoying the output.
