Paxman presented BBC World News? When? I saw Mishal Husain at 1300GMT and now it's Mike Embley.. Well, did he present newsnight style or normal style?

WOW! Paxman in the World News studio! Brilliant!
Did he present a normal "BBC World News" bulletin or was it Newsnight from the world set????
And any captures would be amazing too???? Laughing

Paxman IS newsnight thats why I dont think he would have even liked presenting world news anyway if you think about the weather thing I personally think he only wants to be seen by british viewers on newsnight. If paxman left newsnight at this time the show would be dead. Wink

And I think it was world news it is after all midweek.

Actually it was just for an interview which was being used by all news outlets. As it was a result of a Newsnight investigation Jeremy did it. Mike Emberly threw to Jeremy. You can see the interview on Newsnight tonight.

First time I see Claire Marshall in the World newsroom. She is stunning. I love her subtle smile and the intriguing way she raises her eyebrow now and then. A very sexy way of delivering the news.

During Newsnight the ticker was shown twice in a row, it carried just 3 headlines which, though, were yesterday's -not today's- headlines. I'd really love to see the ticker disappear from our screens.

Apparently from tomorrow the evening edition of WBR will only last 15 mins, and I wonder if it will still be presented from both London and New York. And an edition of Asia Business Report at 0045GMT should be shown outside Asia as well.
If it's true then it's really the end of an era, I've always found the evening edition of WBR an institution at BBCWorld, like The World Today.

OK, I am no expert, and I am in a vile mood tonight anyways, whilst also getting increasingly sick of the lack of consistency and ultimately the lack of quality from BBC World in terms of presentation format and occasional mistakes, painful sounding tractor camera in the News 24 studio, breaking news banners that don't stay on the screen long enough. I also wish they would change up the intro fast-paced style title sequence, once in a while, like they do on BBCN24. OK, maybe that part is contradictory to my angst... but overall, maybe it's just me? See my 8 showcased gripes for yourself in video format, below. To make 10 I could also add that I also hate the graphics and music for World News Today.

Oh and by the way, when I am whining about the Live logo, I don't necessarily mean it should be in the location indicated.

I kind of hope this generates a fair bit of discussion... I know CNN, for example, leaves a live logo on screen for in-studio shots...

Just because it's live doesn't mean it needs to be plastered with a 'Live' logo..as for the rest of it, I think it's probably a good thing that WNT follows a slightly different formula to the other BBCW bulletins, it makes things a bit less repetitive.

I do agree with most of your opinions, but making the live logo appear everywhere is poiontless. In fact it's tad annoying IMO.

I was looking at the schedules and it appears it's only 15 minutes until World News America moves back to midnight (America is currently already on Summer time I believe, shifting a lot of programme times). Then it runs 22.15-22.45 for a while, then by late May there is a programme called "World News Today Business Edition" at 22.00GMT.
