I used not to like Maryam Moshiri. Then I slowly changed my mind and started to like seeing her presenting the news. After this I love this woman.
(I actually don't get a few words of what she says to the woman presenter, anyone willing to satisfy my curiosity by writing them down? Thanks)

ItsRobert has hit the nail on the head - thank you. Alot of people have been sent back to London for the holidays, some who are staying permanently in the UK. The core staff has stayed behind to cover the elections. A regular bulletin will cover the major developments in the US elections, just as BBC World News America would have done.
People need to stop moaning about trivial matters.

And, in any case, if there are any major US political developments during these 10 days, they will still be covered by BBC World. It's just you won't have a dedicated programme for US viewers. Anyway, pre-September 2007 you only got a semi-dedicated programme (i.e. Washington/London co-pres) and pre-2002, you only got what the rest of us get around the world - a normal BBC News bulletin.

Mike Wooldridge is hosting Have Your Say today. I think it's the first time he presents the programme. Well, I had never seen him presenting any programme so far.
I just love his style and manners.

I think he has. He's either done that programme or Reporters in the past. Not recently, though; maybe more than three years ago.

The public announcements have suggested that when BBC World moves into newsroom space currently used by News 24 for their "studio" and newsroom that they will be redesigning the area. (It would be quite strange not to)
News 24 will be moving into the current BBC One studio, which some BBC One bulletins will also continue to use, sometime before the BBC World move.
The current BBC One studio set will obviously have to be modified, as the desk currently only allows 2 presenters and a maximum of 2 guests, and requires two manned cameras to shoot this. News 24 will need a different desk, allowing fixed cameras to shoot it, and also to allow two guests each side on occasions.
I would imagine they will also change the backings in the projector screens as well - as they don't have a "24 hour news channel" feel.

Does anyone know, if there are plans for a new BBC W and BBC N24 style or for a new studio in 2008?
