Final shift: "Welcome to BBC World News. I'm Karin Giannone." And wasn't she good!
CL
Karin is normally on N24 was ahe overnighting last night?
The last couple of weeks she and Tim have been doing lots of shifts on the weekend at BBC WORLD. It have been a pleasure watching she and Tim on the weekends.
I like how they tell you what is coming up and in what region that program will be shown. Some of the other anchors don't tell you that. Viewers have to wait or hope that it is in the conmmercial break. The main person who doesn't is Nadip Dahwiah(sp) she doesn't time herself well. It is always arkward after her bulletin.
Alaister is always on the money. He will go far as giving you the background of what was going to be shown.

I think you are referring to Navdeep Dhariwal?
I haven't seen her on the channel for many weeks now. I recall the time on World where we would religiously see the same 3 presenters working EVERY weekend - Adrian Finighan, Anita McNaught and Mike Embley.
Lately, weekend shifts have taken on a whole new meaning of the word variety - Mike Embley, Martine Dennis, Julian Marshall, Juliette Foster, Maryam Moshiri, Navdeep Dhariwal, Claire Marshall, Tanya Beckett, Tony Campion, Alastair Yates, Tim Willcox, Manisha Tank, Karin Gianonne...................
......haven't seen Anya Sitaram for quite a while actually.

LOL. I know how he feels, Damo. My barber was encouraging me to have some "colouring" done only yesterday. I told him I preferred the distinguished look.
IIRC, Tony Campion also worked at CNN. Was he a Sports Anchor at CNN, or News Anchor?

Tony on this morning, his hair is far grayer compared to his last appearance on World!

Those were the good old days. Three superb anchors who made BBC World very watchable at weekends. I wish they were still at the BBC. I know we can catch Adrian on CNN (and doing a lot more shifts than he got at the Beeb) but I really wish Anita would return to broadcasting. She was truly excellent.
