Is Lyse Doucet so far the only foreign news anchor who is anchoring live from Pakistan?
As always, Lyse is doing a great job and I would consider her ability to remain calm and bring gravitas to any situation makes her one of BBC World's greatest personnel assets.

Yes she and Barbara Plett are the only ones broadcasting live form Pakistan for the past several days, though CNN just got Zain V. from Turkey to go in Pakistan and report Yesterday. They had to ask for I-reports and second hand Tv coverage/monitoring.
It was a shame for CNN the past several days especially international, to a certain extend here in the US there was no big name in the Middle east to covered the story. Nick Robinson was in Chad over the weekend and were is Christian (london based) Amanpour? Luckily for FoxNews they had a reporter on the scene but not live. When Fox is ahead of you on international grounds then you are really screwed.
The BBC was blessed to have people on the ground before hand. I don't know about Al Jazzera.
These are times networks win awards for their coverage and I am show BBC will win just as they won the Emmys for the Isreali/Lebanon war when everyone else was caught off guard.
Nah shes done it a few times before... I don't really like Claire Marshall either, put her on sport maybe? or back to reporting.
I think she is very good. Clear, unambiguous delivery.
Me too, James. She first made an impression on me in early 2004 when she was reporting from Haiti during the political unrest. I thought then that a presenting role wouldn't be far away and I'm pleased to see this come to fruition.

Can anyone guess how old she is? 'Cause I really can't.
Saw the new look Sport Today the other day, its actually a get set of titles, and they've made decent use of the set, I like the way they go straight to the vamp as well, still not a patch on the World Sport music they had before Sport Today
