Is Mishal Hussein still at BBC World? I haven't seen her for ages.

She moved to Breakfast when Natasha went to the Six last year. She's now on maternity leave.

Again?

Has anyone actually got any video of one of the London/Washington BBC World bulletins as I don't think I've seen one with the current look?

Thanks

Yes, again - how inconsiderate of her. But this time, you'll be glad to know that she's having twins, just so she can have two more kids without inconveniencing you by going on maternity leave on a further occasion.

Oh no, I'm very happy for her.

Hymagumba, can you please change the title of this thread and stop ridiculing the people who post in it?

What is a dullard anyway? A type of duck?

I think it's accurate of the type of discussion in here, and, largely, the people who post in it.

I'm sure if you break away from discussion of presenter rotas, Hyma WILL change the thread title. Do you really think that bosses sit down and think "they'd work quite well together" when talking about presentation rotas? It's all about who's available and when, and if they can newsread.

Therefore it's a discussion for dullards.

I'm not surprised too be honest, there's nothing examplary to talk about in terms of TV presentation for BBC World, it's counterpart channel BBC Prime is equally as boring.

The people contributing to this thread are merely discussing one aspect of the presentation of BBC World. Just because Hymagumba created this thread does not give him ownership of it and does not allow him to dictate what is discussed in it. It's fairly simple really - if you don't like what's being discussed in this thread then don't read it. Stop ruining it for those people who are interested.

can you say that with any authority? I would have thought it would be the opposite in most cases.

You've shot yourself in the foot there, Robert. The people in this thread are discussing one aspect of BBC World pres, repetitively, over and over and over again. Yes, I am genuinely interested in the channel - but why should I have to trawl through pages and pages of tedious discussion of presenter pairings and rota placings in order to find a relevant bit of information, or a good piece of discussion?

I would have expected more support from you, to be honest.

We're not a dictatorship here, James. I can't tell the people in this thread what to discuss. I can tell people if the discussion is inappropriate but as far as I am concerned, they are discussing TV pres - which is what we are all here for. This thread isn't alone either - just take a look at the ITV News thread. That's full of rota discussion. In fact, that thread is worse - at least this thread is discussing the actual rotas. The people in the ITV News thread often make up their own!

I understand that you don't like having to trawl through pages of uninteresting information to find what you want. But, I thought the idea of these 'general' threads was to keep all the mundane stuff in one place and when something more important happens, a new thread is created.

Well, you could always post something you wish to discuss or get an answer to and see what response you get. We are not always all going to be interested in the same area's of discussion all the time.
