Ah, this is much better. The ticker was unnecessarily large until today - now, it is just wide enough for the text and allows for more of the picture to be seen by the viewer. I'd go so far as to say this is the best BBC World has looked since December 2003. It all went wrong with the introduction of the Dec. 2003 graphics, in my opinion.
Brian Hanrahan is doing a rare shift on BBC World at the moment. He's provided emergency relief on BBC World for several years (at least as long as I've been watching - I can remember him in the April 2000-September 2001 set) but he doesn't seem to be very used to the current set. He's looking at the wrong cameras quite a lot. Hopefully he'll get better as this afternoon progresses, as this is his first bulletin of the day. He is a likeable, authoritative presenter, though. He's of the same quality as David Jessel and Alastair Yates.

The One and Only Brian Hanrahan.
You are indeed correct, Rob. Brian has been frequenting the anchors chair on the channel for at least the last eleven years. He is a pleasure to watch - kinda no nonsense and in the mould of Yates and Jessel as you also point out!
He's not exactly the type of presenter you'll find on the Antiques Roadshow, for example....................(sic)
