You can pick it up on analogue satellite.

Not anymore. The analogue service was switched off last year. You can only receive it in digital now, though you can also tune in to Astra 19.2E now, as well as the original Hotbird 13E version. Both have the ceefax service. Since I have both Astra 19.2E and Hotbird 13E on one 80cm dish, I can watch either of those, though I usually choose Hotbird because the other takes longer to lock on for some reason.

The bulletin with Lyse Doucet opened with a low wide shot of the studio. Looked great. Very Happy

I agree. They have been using that shot more and more lately. Even the shift done by the man wearing the pink shirts yesterday also had a similar shot.

Strange on Astra 19.2E, I don't have the problem you have, the great thing about BBC World on 19.2E, its right there next to Sky News, CNN, AlJazerra International and France 24 all FTA.

Yep, BBC World doesn't have news bulletins in back half hours and some programmes are not live (unlike Asia Today, WBR, Sport Today etc.). This gives N9 the opportunity to give BBC News 24 a bulletin of world news. Of course, up until a few years ago, BBC World News was shown at 09.30 every day on News 24. Eventually, they scrapped all but Sunday morning.

Jonathan Charles was caught unawares at the end of World News just now. He thought that the bulletin had fully closed, unawares that he was still in full sound and vision, and started to unbutton his jacket and said a very loud and very jolly "thank yöooooooo" to someone in the gallery, before realising that the red light was still on.

What to do!!!!!

Good thing there is a computer mouse on every news desk these days. Gives the anchor something to do when things go wrong, other than fumble with sheets and sheets of paper.

BBC World has increased it's viewing figures by 11 million over the last 12 months with 76 Million now watching each week.

This is mainly due to growth in audiences in Egypt, Canada, Africa, India, Pakistan and the USA
