Nothing spectacular - The World is always on BBC Four!
If News 24 is on World, then there's probably maintenance on World's studio or something of the sort I'm guessing?
Just a guess tho!
Yeah The World is always on BBC FOUR but it should also be going out on BBC World just now. It must be technical issues, wonder what will happen at 2030...
Yes, I guess something must be up. Maybe they missed the start or something?!
EDIT: Though just checked BBC World's schedule, and The World wasn't scheduled to be on today. Or tomorrow. And it wasn't on yesterday. Strange - a schedule change perhaps?
It is not unknown for BBC World to take News 24's output at 2000. If there is chance that a rolling news situation could develop during the 2000-2027 half hour, BBC World sometimes merges with BBC News 24. With World and 24 taking one studio's output, it leaves the usual World studio able to produce "The World" uninterrupted for BBC Four.
If
News breaks or a major speech happens, the coverage can then roll on World and News 24 as required, leaving BBC Four's programme unaffected.
It's true though that BBC News 24
should
have identified themselves as "BBC News" during such a scenario. Specific News 24 titles shouldn't have aired internationally.
Well BBC World never advertise the 20:00GMT Bulletin as The World. Its just known as BBC News in the schedule. It wont be technical because The World studio is in the same area as the usual BBC World News studio. The cameras are just turned round. Its more than likely that The World was covering something more in depth that would not really appeal to international viewers. This has happened before.

Very true although it depends what time the decision was made for World to carry News 24. There may not have been time to cue up the generic titles.

World took News24 so World viewers would get coverage of the UN press conference on oil for aid. The World gallery could then produce The World for BBC 4.
Generic titles should have been generated by TOG. I gather the fact they didn't is due to bugs in the software upgrade recently.

I thought they no longer had to turn the cameras round, becuse the World presentation area is used for the Business on BBC World Bulletins now.
