BBC World News: Reith look onwards

Sucks the ident didn’t have any time put into it, and shame they don’t use the original 2008 ident music, world news is slowly losing its signature tune.

Nice attention to detail on the final shots of the countdown - the new square-ified reith'd box logo has been digitally grafted on to all the monitors showing the globe loop.

If you look at the gallery shot at the end, you'll notice a slight colour mismatch with everything else, on the monitors displaying the loop with the new logo, as opposed to the ones without. They look very similar, but there is still a difference in tone.

Can't be perfect, I guess.

New World News Today intro in Reith - note that the intro did not adopt the new regional news intro template and still adopts the old 2008 style.


Breaking News mode studio setup


Flipper glitch during breaking news - the flipper was removed later 5 minutes into the programme.

I have to say, all of the above (World News Today) looks rather nice! As does the Breaking News images in the studio.

I wish they’d bring this programme back permanently, and not just at weekends.

That out of sync BBC News box on the titles needs sorting. Surprised that wasn't fixed when they swapped the titles over as its been broken for some time.

I’m watching Our World with the story of the conjoined twins they’ve been discussing in features this week is fascinating. One thing is they are using white text in certain areas to denote places and date. However many of the times this appeared on a white background. They should have changed the text to a different color. Additionally this is the first time I’ve ever seen a age rating guide.

BBC World News still haven’t grasped the idea of not bothering to put the flipper on before doing the quarter & half heads.

Every time they put it on and off it comes back and the flipper is frozen and you can only see a square.
