Are Viz engines not remotely controllable?
With CasparCG you can send commands to the server using its AMCP protocol - any client (web interface, locally built app, even a telnet session) on the same network would be able to fire the command.
Could the gallery in Singapore not have access to the graphics being played out in London?
They are. But from what I understand is that because the
BOTH overnight is different between the domestic output and international. When ABR is live the UK does something else. ABR is produced locally in Singapore and sent out from there for distribution. I assume they could remotely control VizRT but it would have to go through a different path at NBH as
Studio C’s equipment is live for domestic output. It was mentioned when they got the new Singapore studio it wouldn’t be fiscally smart to install their own automation and VizRT system given how little the studio is on air and producing a program by itself.
There's some real attention to detail here! The times for the US are presented in AM / PM since that is the most commonly used format by Americans, while the Asia-Pacific feed uses the 24 hour clock.
It’s very nice that they’re using time zones. Before they would pick a a few random cities and you would have to think what time zone it was in. Usually they’d pick an east coast city but not always. I could easily identify US cities but Canadian and the very rare Mexican ones I would have to google.
