Quite strange that the Sport and Current Affairs stings have different colour backgrounds to each other.

I'm really not sure about the BBC World News DOG when there is nothing else on screen (i.e. recorded programmes like this one, which was HardTalk). It just seems to look out of place to me. It's almost like it is adrift or lost.

It doesn't look right.

Each "subject" sting used a different background previously. Here's the "Business" example:

The new layout works a lot better than what was used before.

Does a breakfiller still exist on the channel?

Wouldn't that be things like This Week in History? Of course they do, they're needed when BBC News Channel is simulcasting World.

They have inserted the filler, but it seems there's one particular problem.

2008 sting idents have been replaced visually with a simple, new design. However, the 2008 sting music lives on! Laughing

If you look at the screen left of the letter "r" in Sport, the location names in the cats cradle disappear when they rotate past that point.

I think it looks better than what came before it, but the sloppiness in how its been made is a little disappointing. They've just taken the loop from another slide design and blanked out the left side that probably had writing over top.

Similar to the example above. Can't imagine a clean version of the loop itself would be hard to find.

Thank god Breakfast now looks a lot more consistent

I do think the old logo was better, combined with the old clock but hey, the wipe is consistent now! And the colouring of the graphics too. No more generic BBC News combined with Breakfast. Just breakfast! Yay!

Nice seeing they even replace the logo on the multiviewer. Even PBS had the new Reith countdown which is amazing because for years after the move to NBH they were still using the old SD one. I got the times wrong on the launching of Reith thinking it was specifically at 12BST and not GMT. So the GMT launch mediaboy said was at 8AM EDT, however Reith launched a half hour before at 11:30 GMT.

The old SD countdown was used by the distributor of BBC World News across the PBS stations of the time, KCET Los Angeles. As of June 1st, 2019, the current distributor is WETA Washington D.C., one of the stations behind PBS Newshour (the other being Thirteen WNET New York). WETA also handles the corporate and foundation underwriting for BBCWN / WNA https://weta.org/press/weta-enters-partnership-represent-and-distribute-bbc-world-news-programming-pbs

Old one played out during the second half hour simulcast of World News America. I missed the first half but noticed the show names bug is missing on the back half. I assume that’s to prevent mixups with the PBS stations bug.

They’ve been rerendered in Reith as well.

I didn't mean the coloured boxes being different colours (that, I understand completely), I meant the background shade varied between white and grey on both stings.
