Dharshini David has briefly appeared on BBC World News. This time not as a presenter but speaking for Tesco during a report about light bulbs.

Yep - she left the BBC to work as a PR spokesperson for Tesco ISTR. (Quite a few former BBC reporter/presenters have made the jump to PR. Gutto Hari did - and then moved on again to work for Boris Johnson ISTR?)

Oh yes, indeedy Noggin. There was Michael Cole who famously left BBC News to become spokesperson for Mohamed Al Fayed and Harrods store in particular. Clarence Mitchell became the spokesman for the McCann Family. David Davies left BBC News to become the head (I think) of the Football Association. And former BBC News anchor Laurie Mayer left to become a spokesman somewhere or other, but I can't remember where.

Didn't World's George Eykyn and Peter Coe also move into PR related roles?

Laurie Mayer took over Michael Cole's old role with Al Fayed.

I actually enjoyed WHYS yesterday, better than the old HYS... they should do this daily about the top stories... but then again it would cost a bob or two.

I caught a brief glimpse of this yesterday, and noted an anchor in the studio standing at the newswall conducting proceedings. Who was he? I only saw a momentary glimpse.

If you're talking about the presenter it was Ros Atkins, the presenter of World Have Your Say on the World Service. Very good on the radio.

OMG! I worked on this programme a few years ago. Can't believe it's on TV now. I always thought Ros was excellent and would end up on the box.

Will World Have Your Say feature permanently on BBC WN or was it just a special programme part of the Gaza coverage?
