Where is the Business Edition of WNT coming from tonight? Is it the Washington studio? There's a rather odd bucolic sight of the US capital on the background.

Sounds like it. The recenly revamped Washington studio now features, I think, a collection of recognisable monuments from many US cities. I may be wrong, but I think I read that somewhere.

Who's presenting it? Has Tanya flown out or are they using a US-based business presenter? Does Tanya usually present all week?

Michelle Fleury presented a "special edition" -that's what she said in the end- of the Biz Edition. She was looking rather stunning tonight. One more evidence that the cameras in the New York studio are terribly unflattering.

Tanya Beckett doing Nik Gowing's edition of WNT today. Good too, given that the top several stories are all business and financial related. LOL. However, Jamie Robertson still came on and did the biz segments anyway.

Old-school CNBC Europe/FT Television anchors both. It's funny that old style CNBC seemed to navigate over to BBC World, pretty much. Of the others, well Becky Anderson went to ITN for a while before joining CNN, and Ros Childs went to ABC in Australia, where she is currently an anchor on the Midday Report.

I had no idea that Becky Anderson was ever at ITN. Was she a biz reporter?

With Tanya doing the earlier business segments on BBC World all last week, who has been presenting the regular WNT Business Edition in her stead?

No, Becky was an anchor. She presented morning news programmes on Channel 5..

Geeta Guru-Murthy was very clearly struggling today. I have no idea why they didn't have a replacement brought in, or perhaps Martine Dennis could have extended her shift a bit.

I was actually waiting for Sophie Raworth to pop onto the set and re-enact her famous takeover of Anna Ford, who once also almost her voice on air. Geeta wasn't quite as bad as Anna was, but was heading there!

yeah i know. Was their something wrong with her voice. The headlines didn't seem as dramtic even though their was 33 second countdown.

Also i have two questions?
1. Does Hardtalk in the UK use the same tittles as they do on BBC World News?

2.This week they changed the titles of Newsnight on bbc world news, to match the same one used in the UK. Will they do that forever, or is that just for this week?

Well Washington has new 16:9 cameras (probably HD given that BBC America is launcing and HD channel) whilst the cameras in the NY bureau are 4:3 (and thus ARCed and zoomed to 14:9 pillarbox) and AIUI they are 15 years old or more. The BBC rent the studio and bureau space in New York from PBS broadcaster WNET / Channel 13 and that includes the main studio facilities for WBR. The studio is a broom cupboard.
