BBC World News: Presentation

Yes, the title 'The World Today' has been scrapped so as to emphasise 'BBC World News'. 'World News Today' will continue, along with its variants such as the new 'World News Today - Business Edition' and 'BBC World News America' but their titles will be much less differentiated.

I particularly like these. I find that unlike the 2007 lot, which looks like it came out of a 3D package with every effect applied, and to some extent the '03 lot, these have lots of detail. I think these will actaully stay "fresh" for some time, like the original '99 look. Very pleased! -- Thanks to everyone who posted caps, btw!

Is it just me or has BBC World lost the thunderclaps and BBC News gained them?

I've just heard the audio of the BBC World News Countdown posted here a couple of pages ago. Apart from some BBC World's signature notes, it sounds exactly the same as the BBC News countdown.

I like the new graphics, but their extremely "light and airy" feel clashes with the solid, relatively dark set.

It does indeed, I see there is more new footage in BBC News' countdown, yet nothing new so far in BBC Worlds.
