Wow. Karin is in the USA? That's nice.
Also, I managed to watch Tanya Beckett doing the business segment alongside Kirsty Lang last night, then Tanya presented BBC World News, then she presented Asia Today and then World News Today - Biz Edition.
I have to say, Tanya makes the whole thing look effortless. She is an excellent presenter.

I must say BBC World looks like a different channel ever since they moved into the new set and changed the schedule. Everything is just perfect, presenters are more relaxed and it all looks sublime.
I would only want 2 things to change. Put Peter Dobbie in David Eades' slot (I've said that before) and give Nisha a slot of her own, maybe the one presented by Z. Badawi. She is on tonight and she is great as always.
Here are some more caps of the new set.

They used the wide shot of the set with Nisha standing in the end of WNT. Why don't they use this shot after the opening titles??

Today we had Nisha presenting George Alagiah's and Zeinab Badawi's slots, and Geeta Guru Murthy did Mishal Husain's one. Lyse Doucet is in Belgrade.

Ginnyfan,
Thanks for those caps and I entirely agree with your comments. BBC World (News) is just about "perfect" right now (touches wooden desktop whilst typing) and I am enjoying almost every aspect of the pres at the moment. I wouldn't, however, propose that Zeinab Badawi's slot is taken away. Her style and interviewing technique is splendid. Nisha's is too, but it's a totally different style.
As mentioned in my post above, it is also a pleasure to see Tanya Beckett with her own news slot and I feel that the formula across the channel now is good. (OK, would be even better if the overhead shots at open and close could come back, but perhaps there is no space for that noisy tractor-cam that used to be there.........)
As you know, I am not a fan of stand-up news, but now on World it is not overdone. It's almost so discreet as not to be noticeable, and the edit ensures that it is not sensationalist delivery.
(Funny to see Nisha wearing proper "shoes" in those shots above. As the lady herself admits, she is normally wearing a formal upper outfit, but jogging pants and running shoes under the desk!!!! No more of that, m'lady!!)

(Edit: Martine filling in for Martine today - Croxall for Dennis - on the early stint.)
