Julian Marshall on BBC World News this morning...where has he come from?

Julian Marshall was, in fact, one of the very early presenters on BBC World, or 'BBC World Service Television' as it was known then. There's a clip of him presenting a news bulletin in c.1991/2 on TV Ark.

Indeed. Julian was a presenter on BBC World Service Television in the very early days of the channel, alongside the much missed Lindsey Brancher (where is she???) and the well-known Riz Khan.

Quite a random question, but does anyone know what those cabinets are used for - on the far left?

Looks awful! Maybe the red thing is there as a door and he forgot to close it. It also looks bad because its so dark on that side, it looks really bad.

That looks like a great studio, though it looks a lot more roomy than BBC World News. It seems Jago Design, the set designers, have used the same idea for the two studios.

Its a bit of a hybrid of ITV and the old news 24 set, looks very gloomy though.

LOL. The pillars. The perspex. The desk. The podium. All very BBC News-esque!! I like it though.
