Was the BBCW move/upgrade of N8 funded by the license fee? I'm thinking no. Noggin? lol

What a fantastic new look for World. Sure it's probably been said already, but this is really (IMO) what the NC should have been (along with still being called BBC News 24 etc etc *grumble grumble*)

I believe BBC World is available as premium content in Real Player if you join their 'SuperPass' subscription service outside the UK. As BBC Worldwide can not sell subscription services under the BBC brand in the UK I suspect you may not get it as part of the subscription in the UK. I could be wrong though, and it will appear even though it's not advertised as part of the subscription.

is there a web feed for World we can watch at the moment?

ah yes. IIRC using a UK credit card prevents you from getting World. At least thats how it was four or five years ago.

Yep - they merged the BBC One studio operation with the BBC News 24 operation - creating a combined BBC One/BBC News Channel operation in a single studio (with the Six and Breakfast moving out to the Working Lunch/Newsround/Newsnight etc. studio) This saves significant amounts of money as you are only staffing one studio rather than two, and only maintaining (and capitally supporting) one studio rather than two.
You could argue that they could have done the same thing by rebuilding the News 24 area as World have done - but the Ten O'Clock News would just look wrong from that space IMHO. The Ten needs decent sound, decent lighting, and a flexible production space (floor you can track cameras on, presenter insets etc.)

No - the BBC Worldwide move into the old News 24 gallery and newsroom set was funded by investment from sources other than the licence fee - a different pot of money...
I believe the cameras and vision mixer have been upgraded as well in that area, as well as the Barco wall been added and the set renewed.
