Scenes like this would be better instead of 10 thousand World News Todays. Maybe they should cut some of them and do more double headers.

The Newshour was a bit awkward but that's just because it is the first day. As time goes on, it will become much smoother and more natural.
I like the set very much. It feels like News 24 used to. It's just a shame that News 24 is now shoved in a shoebox with no atmosphere and BBC World is absolutely glowing! In my 8 years of watching BBC World, I can honestly say it has the best feel right now. It feels like a news channel.
And...a closing sequence at 10.55!! Finally. It felt so much better than a sharp cut. Now they just need to roll them out to the rest of the bulletins.

I missed the start - was there anything different about the opening sequence? Was there something to indicate it was an extended bulletin; the word Newshour used? Or anything different?

Did they pan out/show an aerial shot? I haven't managed to see any yet.. I guess they're keeping the other side of the set a secret until WNT.

I'm afraid I missed the start myself. I joined the programme at about 10.02.

They played the long closing music while they chatted about Wimbledon and the camera slowly pulled out from the desk before cutting to the closing title graphics. They didn't do an aerial shot.

The soft set is on the other side. Thats where Jonathan was doing the BOTH News headlines from and the .45 headlines during the BBC World News at 0500BST. (I assume so anyway)

i think that's where they will do WNT since the dark N9 set is not being used anymore, and i doubt that there's something on the other side.

have we seen the "soft" set yet? I was under the impression they'd been doing headlines from the left pod standing area but not used the right pod yet.

The first is on the left, and 2nd is somewhere else and I'm guessing its the right...

Nup, no more tricks up there sleeve. WNT is even less different to normal bulletins than ever before.
