I love the new graphics they have on the plasma screen.

Yes, but at least one red had gradients/colour change etc, and the ticker was flat red. Now they are both identical colours!

Shame they are dropping 'non-news' from BBC WN. When I went to Poland, Top Gear and occasional HIGNFY kept me sane...

Was there really a time when HIGNFY was broadcast on BBC World?

I don't think the abc style "a"s have been around for that long!

They weren't. Shortly after their unveiling, they got pulled back big time to where you hardly ever saw them. Guess that branding exercise backfired.

They did look WAY too much like abc's logo

I don't think so

^ that's what I think too.
i've been watching BBC World a long time and not seen HIGNFY not even once, maybe it's BBC Prime for Europe and North Africa / BBC Entertainment for Asia (except for Top Gear)

--------------

maybe they changed it because it just a weekly programme and not like Asia Business Report...

--------------

btw... have the people on Sport Today changed the credit from:
"© BBC World MMVIII"
to "© BBC World News MMVIII?"

last time i've seen after the relaunch it wasn't...

I've been watching BBC World since about 2000 and I have to say I've never seen Have I Got News For You on there, either.

Not that I can remember and I cannot recall Prime showing it either. Top Gear was one of the most popular programmes on World (along with Holiday) but was often butchered mercilessly to fit into the back-half-hour slot.

I doubt very much that the BBC would show HIGNFY to an international audience. The vast bulk of the satire is towards domestic British politics so it would mean very little to non-UK citizens.

BBCA seems have have deviated from the 'a' look. Now I only see them on episode credits and MA warnings.

I watched a bit of BBC America ealier in the year and don't remember seeing the 'a' once.

The only ident, (in a British sense) on the station was news-branded, like the examples at the beginning of http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ubk6to_ppL0 (albeit with the old branding of course)

BBC WN America looks much better with the new blue backgrund, the old one was ugly.

I must say too, the new blue background for WNA is very nice.
