In contrast, however, I think HardTalk looks nice in N6. Maybe it's because it's a darker backdrop for that show and they use more wide shots of the set.
Err - Hardtalk doesn't come from that studio. It comes from the other one...
Okay, sorry, I'm getting N6 confused with TC7. They both look somewhat similar.
I know, but it just looks a bit cheap to me for some reason. I guess it looks too unreal. I think I'd prefer a real newsroom backdrop or perhaps even a nice video loop like the AJE world map or CNNI's old white globes.

What exactly do you think they are trying to 'fool' people into believing is behind the presenters?
It's a stylised interpretation of a newsroom vista on the walls of a studio set, I don't think anybody believes it's anything else.

N6 is a relatively small studio used for the BBC News Channel, BBC News at One and BBC News at Ten as well as Dateline London and Film24 (which both go out live on the BBC News Channel).
TC7 is a larger studio which houses live programmes like BBC News at Six, Breakfast, Newsnight, Working Lunch and Newsround, as well as recorded programmes like Hard Talk. TC7 has a lot more space, longer walls for the BARCO screens and a bigger gallery, where as N6 has relatively little space for storing sets & items and practically no flexibility in the set (in its current form).
However until the NC moved into N6 in 2008, N6 was often used for programmes like Hard Talk and all of the BBC 1 news bulletins, plus Breakfast.

It looks like there's major changes for World starting February 1st, according to the online schedule grid. It's showing several new programmes starting that day such as GMT with George Alagiah, Impact Asia with Mishal Husain and The Hub with Nik Gowing as well as numerous other schedule changes. Very Interesting.

So this is essentially the end for world news today, with the only edition remaining being the Zeinab Badawi edition, and the now simply named 'Business Edition'...
EDIT: Also noticed 'Frontline with Lyse Doucet' which replaces Michal Hussain on some days...

This will be the biggest transformation for BBC WORLD NEWS in a long time. I am super excited. WOW WOW.
let the speculation begin. Will there be a visual revamp and a studio update? I can not wait. The entire world will now see Asia Bus Report and Asia today. There will probably be a new and updated studio too and a new anchor. There is a new program called "Weekend World" on fridays. This is how you make a schedule....
The shows name are on Point, Frontline with Lyse, Impact Asia with Mishal, the Hub with Nik. Most of the shows are rolling for like 2 or 3 hours. Most of these shows will have everything in them like business and sports updates plus features. I heart that approach, more focus on the programs instead of personalities.

So it looks as though the only remaining "World News Today" will be with Zeinab Badawi. Sound like very interesting changes. Like someone else has said, the new programme names sound very CNN-esque. Whether this will be a good thing, or a bad thing, I think it's too early. It's certainly pleasing to see they're changing to hopefully further improve the channel.

I don't have a good feeling about this. BBC World is a good alternative to CNN now with their straigh forward bulletins at the top of every hour. I'm surprised that they are doing this, especially since they gained viewers and CNN lost some. I wish they would have more double anchored shows and a morning show for Europe.
