Thanks, Yaloh. The shot I was referring to at the top of this page was even wider and longer than the one you've posted. As I mentioned, it took-in the extremities of the "pod" as well. Is that Juliet Dunlop in your capture?

That's a great shot, wish they would use it as an opening shot, experiment a bit BBC for a change.

That does look superb, if only the Nationals/NC could use this set!

That does look good indeed. The "new" N8 is much better now than how N24 had it last, in my opinion.

I wish we could see more of the right side of the set. It's only used occasionally for WBR.

And it'd be nice if they could do a proper close to the news bulletins and do a nice studio pan and a little music jingle at the end instead of the abrupt cut to weather.

They just used that shot for the opening. Very Happy Hope this is permanent.

Everything looks so much better in that one shot, better desk, better use of the videowall, it just looks good, the news channel looks pretty poor in comparison.

I like that as it is the perfect balance between Red and White and it isn't dull and flat like N6 's barcos (which are so boring and offer no benefits.)

I take it they don't have that Tractor Roof Camera they used to have when News 24 had the set? (It was rather noisy mind you!).

I think the noise was a part of getting rid of it, and space. They use the space much more effectively with the video wall. Plus, they seem to have a problem with showing that the right 'pod' is actually so close to the main set and act like it's a separate set. The tractor camera used to show that pod too.

That fake newsroom backdrop is so ugly in my opinion. They aren't fooling anyone. I feel sorry for those of you in the UK who have to watch that all the time.

In contrast, however, I think HardTalk looks nice in N6. Maybe it's because it's a darker backdrop for that show and they use more wide shots of the set.

What exactly do you think they are trying to 'fool' people into believing is behind the presenters?

It's a stylised interpretation of a newsroom vista on the walls of a studio set, I don't think anybody believes it's anything else.
