No one has ever answered my question, that if BBC World News is larger than CNN in terms of audience numbers. According to press releases I think it isn't.

Why would you doubt the numbers and accurarcy of the figures. If BBCWN and CNNI had issues with the figure they wouldn't subscribe to them. If CNNI had won they would release them and say it was their new shows that made the differences.

CNNI was a good channel years back but they have lost their touch and people are staying with BBCWWN. Their audience have been declining over the past 5 years and BBCWN has grown so this is a trend and they have been proven over and again.

It is not just an international issue with CNN News Group they are facing similar problems in the US where the problem has been an issue for the past decade. That effect may be slipping to its international division. Sensational stories and news personalities are all over CNNI.

I do not doubt the figures. But because it seems that BBC WN is still less watched than CNNI.

That is not the case anymore. It use to be the case. I know for a fact in the US here more people have access to BBC WORLD NEWS content then CNNI content on a daily basis. PBS, BBC AMERICA, CBC, CANADA where CNNI just got a license to operate and BBC WORLD has been in Canada for years now.

Why would people in the US want CNN International when they have their own domestic CNN service? In the UK we don't officially have access to BBC World because we have BBC News.

To get international news that CNN Domestic apparently doesnt broadcast that much off

Some people here in the UK would be interested in having BBC World, no different to US viewers wanting CNNI

I'm sorry but that is an appalling mistake for the Press Office of the BBC.

The BBC PBS programmes get higher ratings in the states than anything on CNN Domestic , except for Larry king Live.

What I meant was of course BBC World gets higher viewers in the US than CNN International, because unless I'm mistaken, CNNI doesn't broadcast there! It's like saying CNNI gets more viewers than BBC World in the UK...obviously, because the latter doesn't broadcast in the UK!

I think I've read on the CNNFan forums that CNNI has been added to a few cable operators packages, but its not widely available

News 24 has to be the most boring news channel ever. No wonder there are loads tune in, because they switch it on, then fall asleep with it still on. Yawwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnn.

Compared to Sky News who just repeat the same amount of tabloid garbage over and over again every five minutes, but with nice views of a blue and red (how the hell do people work there - it would drive me mad) newsroom. Given the choice, I know which I'd choose.
