BBC World News: Presentation

It's a small refresh. Tweaks to the desk position, removal of the Cam Right Projector, and a re-light.

i just seen it, maybe record a news bulletin from N9 later...
i prefer the studio when it is being used during the European Election... not much light.

Gotta say the presenter shot is much nicer than the one in N8. Move back I say. lol

I don't have any capping capabilities at the moment so I took 2 photos of my tv...

The studio does look pretty good. The double headed shot (in this afternoon's case when Adnan was handing to the sport) looked pretty nice. I wonder what the NC would look like in there. The 2nd desk and plasma screen (used during the election coverage) could be used for sport and business.

Some caps

This shot is so much better than that awful shot in the normal World studio where they obviously have to crab the camera so far around to get the newswall in shot it leaves the viewer seeing all sorts of rubbish behind and under the desk, hairspray, coffee cups etc.. This shot although it doesn't have a big video wall looks so much better - not to mention how good it is not having laptops sticking up with cables all over the desk.

I'm surprised to see that it looks pretty much exactly as it did when BBC World moved out. I would have thought that some elements of the Election coverage set that fell in line with the current BBC News set look, such as the frosted globe swirls would have remained.

Wow, it really looks nice and you're right about that plasma shot. I hope with the changes they will make this weekends they put a camera for a wide shot after the opening and also a better position with the newswall shot.

The tweaked N8 looks really good, with new standup positions in lieu of the weird Barco shot from the desk. There is new frosting where the projector was, and the desk has been moved over slightly, so the shot of the newsroom is bright, not the dark gallery view. There is now a surprisingly realistic newsroom used on the Barcos at points...puts N6 to shame.

Why O' Why, I hate the new changes. They have cut of the set and split it into two????????????.
The Barco area looks so small. I will reserve my judgment until I see WNT and the double header.
