Does anyone know what happened to this programme called The Oracle?
Also, did anyone watch the Indian election coverage today. It was quite good and I really liked the ident they used.

I thoroughly enjoyed Nik Gowing's live's from Delhi today. Very interesting broadcasting, especially the special edition of World News Today, which we don't normally get on a Saturday. I was not so sure about the roll-ups behind him though, in front of the Indian parliament. Those type of roll-ups are maybe ok outside the laundry or foto-express shops, but perhaps not on Global television. LOL. However, thoroughly good bulletin otherwise. Even all the global live-links worked perfectly.
The modified David Lowe theme music (with a distinct Indian flavour) was superb too.
Just one question - IIRC, Nisha is usually World's on the spot anchor for Indian political coverage. I was surprised that she held the London end of the broadcast, whilst Nik was on location in Delhi?
Yeah I loved the music, it was really good. However the ident failed to play during Wthe special world news today.
Also, yesterday durings the headlines everyhour, the weather brodcasts before were always being cut off.
And this morning, the countdown failed to play, so viewers were just looking at a black screen until the headlines started.
Well I live in the Middle East. And when I was watching it, the countdown failed to appear and the screen turned black, and then about 20 seconds later the headlines started.
That is probably why. Is SOUTH ASIA and the middle east on one feed or is it only the Middle East. Cause sometimes on World the anchor will say for viewers in South Asia and the Middle East you will see this.....
At other times they will say viewers in the middle east will see Middle East business Report. You will probably know why.
There are at least half a dozen feeds of BBC World News - if you know where to look in the Broadcast Centre, you can see a multiviewer with all of them. They're often showing the same content, until you get to a junction, when they'll split off and do different things. (If one should fail, the director ought to be able to manually intervene)
It think the one you are referring to is the master feed. It runs under all the feeds. If one fails the master feed jumps in. It only has the time in GMT and not the regional time zones you are watching in.
