If I'm not mistaken, didn't the BBC press release from last year about Yaldah Hakim joining BBC World News mention she'd present a new weekly programme? If so, has that programme aired yet (or further details been released) or is this another case of BBC World News committing to a new weekly programme, announcing it, and then never following through (such as with Lyse Doucet's Frontline, that ultimately just became a Friday edition of Impact)? I've seen her present Studio B-based news bulletins and report for Our World, but nothing else so far.

That's done with Studio E for BBC News isn't it? Wouldn't it be a duplicate if BBCWN uses it? Or do you mean a cam pointing to the vast area inside the bbc building and the feed projected as background on BBCWN's background?
I would love them to put a live shot of the newsroom. The story graphics/background are already used in the other studio (GMT/Impact etc) so no need for it here as well imo.

Would be lovely to see Yalda with her own program. We'd then have 2 Middle Eastern beauties fronting the BBCWN.

Does anyone think it would be good if they replaced the London skyline backdrop once in a while with something else? Of course they can put some vids of the stories they're currently mentioning, instead of projecting it on the independent LCD panel that stands to the left of the news anchor. But maybe they'd be weird (with double vids) or too common looking? I do get bored of looking at the London skyline sometimes, either day or night. During days, I sometimes would scrutinize for planes or birds or UFOs on it when the story they're mentioning isn't that exciting, but most of the time it's pretty non-happening. Its like staring out your window. I do wish I can see the London roller coaster turn for once, live on BBCWN, that'd made my day! It would make a good side amusement. (Btw, I don't live in the UK, so I have no idea when that gigantic machine operates.
)
Yeah I'm getting a bored of it too especially the day one. I liked them at the beginning but I'd prefer if they just had a live wide shot of the impressive newsroom.

Is the other one Mishal Hussain? I believe she's from Pakistan.

Her family is, though she was born and raised in the UK. Meanwhile Yaldah was born in Afghanistan, but essentially raised in Australia.

News room looks way too flat IMO.

The Skyline, looks better with the screens that they have got.

Yes, it's Mishal I'm meaning. Pakistan's is still counted as Middle Eastern I presumed? Hehe. Wikipedia says it's a junction between Asia and the Middle East. Both she and Yalda are raised in much of the Western world though, so I don't think they're really having a lot of exposure at their homeland.
I think I've read that Mishal is Muslim? Can anyone verify? What about Yalda?

Pakistan isn't really in the Middle East in it's widely accepted definition - as that usually stops at Iran. (Some include Pakistan in the "Greater Middle East")
Most descriptions of the region including Pakistan describe it as South Asia - and bracket it with India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka (and often Afghanistan, Nepal and Bhutan)
