Does anyone know what's that item pointed with the arrow that Naga Munchetty seems to like to put on her desk? Didn't notice other presenters using that device. Curious.

It's one of these - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00186PMOE/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I noticed Naga using it as the programme ended at 05:56 this morning.

It seemed as though she was doing more than just using an ordinary ergonomic mouse to scroll through the programme running order. The studio sound cut out as she pressed one of the buttons, and we switched to the domestic BBC News sting . . . prior to promos into Breakfast.

I always thought it was a clock. Laughing Embarassed Didn't Peter Sissons use the same thing? I thought that was a clock too.

They are so much easier to use, we have them at college and clicking with your thumb instead of your finger makes clicking a doddle.

Can anybody tell me if Linda Yueh showed up on the BBC last May 13, and how about after that?

(Sorry, did not checked international channels on that day because of the Midterm Elections here in the Philippines...)

Yup. A mouse.

She's clearly preserving her wrist for the golf handicap!

She appeared here in the UK and now has an article online so I presume so.

So I guess it's Naga's personal mouse! Do you guys think the mouse belongs to her? I don't see any other presenters using it. Maybe the rest prefer to just click through using the keyboard, while she brings her ergonomic mouse, for preserving hands for golf, good one there! Laughing

A little Googling around and I found this! http://www.evoluent.com/VM4R-med.jpg Isn't it strikingly similar? (I think it speaks plenty about how much she's willing to take care of her hands since this device is so large and obvious on the newsdesk. I initially thought it was some kind of a paper weight, but it's clear there isn't a typhoon in a newsroom, so it's highly unlikely.)

Yessssssss.........................(Said in a Paxman-esque tone).

In other news: those wide shots of diving, ducking and dancing cameras is starting to irritate somewhat. A nice touch to see it once in a while. But, not at every opening, close, junction and handover.

The studio has robotic cameras: we get it!!!! Let's move on!

Now, please start being a bit more innovative with your massive newswall and mix it up a little bit to bring some logical backdrops to the current story.

Does anyone think it would be good if they replaced the London skyline backdrop once in a while with something else? Of course they can put some vids of the stories they're currently mentioning, instead of projecting it on the independent LCD panel that stands to the left of the news anchor. But maybe they'd be weird (with double vids) or too common looking? I do get bored of looking at the London skyline sometimes, either day or night. During days, I sometimes would scrutinize for planes or birds or UFOs on it when the story they're mentioning isn't that exciting, but most of the time it's pretty non-happening. Its like staring out your window. I do wish I can see the London roller coaster turn for once, live on BBCWN, that'd made my day! It would make a good side amusement. (Btw, I don't live in the UK, so I have no idea when that gigantic machine operates. Smile )
