BBC World News from New Broadcasting House

Unusual to see Clive Myrie on World News. I'm assuming because there is a second presenter in London, Rico Hizon/Sharonjiyt Leyl won't be used tonight as Newsday branding appears to be missing. I'm surprised World News America isn't hosting the special simulcast.

Those technical problems in studio C don't get any better.

The Washington studio doesn't have the ability to make complex standalone programmes. The World News America programmes are driven by Gallery C at NBH, who play in all the packages, etc. Washington is just a source into C.

Ah ok, makes sense. I remember though Katty Kay and Matt Frei were on air for about 6 hours non-stop back in 2008 for Super Tuesday during the primaries. It's still good to see that Washington was used though during the simulcast. Maybe the set up was different at TVC. Although I missed it, it was nice to have World News America on domestically as well. So is all World News America output passing through the gallery in NBH?

Minor cock-up on Impact earlier... LIVE bug is switching on/off for many times because it is located in Boston, while Lucy is talking to someone in Karachi.

And after the countdown, the Local Time/Live bug appeared for a while.....

BBCWN tried to put the LIVE bug on Global, while talking to someone in Washington DC studios... but still stuck in Boston. Something wrong over there?

I didn't see World News today, was it simulcasting with BBC One and the BBC News Channel?

World News Today is shown every weekday at 7pm on BBC Four in the UK.

Nice little crash to an empty NC studio with a dust cover over the desk and cameras whizzing round...

Was quite a coincidence that the interviewee said a 'dust proof cover' of something like that haha!

Finally seeing BBCWN using the Breaking News ticker again... strange that didn't see that few days earlier, despite the two important world news stories.
