That just shows the moving cameras in studio e when they are talking about the fixed camera in studio c!

WN is carrying The Boat Race from 16.00 - 17.00 BST, so right now. Just the transparent BBC World News logo and BBC Sport DOGs. Clare Balding introduced the coverage from BBC One as a welcome to BBC World News viewers. Funny as how reluctant the beeb are in general to mention WN's existence.

Yes, I was watching BBC ONE at the time and it was done very smoothly and right on time. Was surprised she mention "BBC WORLD NEWS" as on Football focus as it known as "BBC WORLD".

Also, did you see the people standing behind Clare when she welcomed world viewers, they looked shell shocked haha.

No, because the initial discussion was about when a camera in Studio E went walkies, with someone saying they should have a fixed camera. That image shows the cameras in E, but you can also see that the closest camera is on a very small track, with limited movement, so it's always trained on the desk.

Plus they are practically the same studio with just a different backdrop - I wouldn't be surprised if the camera layouts are identical too.

On the monitor behind the floor manager, there looks to be a few overhead cameras which, from the looks of it, would give some more varied wide/opening shots for Studio C rather than the shot from the side of the studio, which on both channels is getting a bit boring now. The shot above the desk with the video wall in view looks fantastic.

Curious that WN don't have screens showing the channel's output on them underneath the cameras like the News Channel do. Are the NC really that short of off-screen space in Studio E that they can't put big screens behind the cameras like WN and the setup in N6?

I'm not sure it is that clear cut. This image of camera 5 in studio C shows that it does show the output above.

Looks great - my caps don't do it justice as it looks a lot more vivid on screen:

Perhaps it depends what the cameras role it, where is it positioned and what is behind it.

In that "blooper" last week of Mike Embley and the countdown, when they eventually crossed away from Mike to the static shot of the camera facing the Newswall, it could be seen that the camera does have a monitor mounted to it, but above rather than below the main fixture.

Meantime, on today's Focus on Africa with Sophie Ikenye, did anyone else notice that the screens only showed a static FOA globe throughout the programme? No other significant imagery was used. Also, the globe did not "animate" in the way it usually does.

Which studio is Focus on Africa actually coming from now that it has moved to a new slot due to Daylight Saving Time? - I remember that World was supposed to use Studio B until 1830 BST - does this mean that Focus is now coming from Studio C or are they simply staying in Studio B for an additional 30 minutes?

Focus on Africa is still on Studio B, since it is timelocked to GMT (like Impact, and Global), but at the Top of the hour they use Studio C for World News Today.

It seems BBC WN liked the program handover (the one that they do after GMT & before Impact), they decided to ditch the program close on GMT and do a handover to Tim Willcox, whose presenting the 1200GMT bulletin.
