I kind of like the fact that BBC World is still playing out countdowns with President Obama in them and that instead of President Trumps face in the World News America open is just a picture of the White House.

Isn't it about time the Washington set was updated to match that of NBH and Singapore?

Judging by how long it took to update the set in Singapore, we'll probably be waiting about another 10 years (and even then Singapore only really got updated because they had to move premises).

Supposedly when they upgraded the studio to HD (2014 I think) the anchors referred to it as a new set.
From what I've seen the space isn't that big and if they do the circular style set like London and to an extent Singapore they'll loose a lot of valuable space. Probably the best thing they could do is mimic the Barcos at TVC (with LED tiles or vertically mounted screens) and have them on all three walls maybe angle the desk to the corner.
