wow, did they already air it, or will it be on Weekend World?
They're running a story about the rerecording of the countdown music, including interviews with Davids Lowe and Arnold.

Who was this suggestion by? Was it an insider? Really surprised they seem to have installed the smart glass in both C & E quite late in the process and then changed both. Yes, I know that's what pilotting is for, but I'd have thought they'd be able to test a screen in a bright room to see if it's any good without having to get to the stage of installing it in a 'finished' new set.
Can anyone shed any more light on the great clever-glass screen debate?
Was it you who was getting restless about 'what they've done' to the smart glass earlier? The last picture you've posted shows a difference to the others; they've replaced the smart glass panel with a more opaque projector screen on a glass panel (either the same or a new one). I think it still operates in the same way (projection), they've just improved the image quality. Obviously not CSO if it's present in a photo taken by a independent camera.
Yes, it was me. It doesn't look like a projection to me. Far too sharp. Could be a CSO - one picture I posted was off air, and the other was from the BBC so they could have taken it off output.
But, we're guessing. Would be nice if someone who knew told us what they know . It's on air now so shouldn't be a secret.
I thought the suggestion was the smart glass (or whatever it's called) and projector setup had been replaced by another screen, perhaps similar to the plasmas (?) used in the BBC Sports centre?

Bordering on a 'Rota' post there, saved by the fact you mentioned the countdown. I think Hard Talk has well and truly moved out of TC7 now, it's just the new green screen studio mocked up to look like TC7.

Can anybody confirm if HARDtalk has moved to the virtual studio?
And won't they dress it up a bit & add some augmented reality...
though I still want to imagine that Stephen is actually talking to no one & staring at a green wall.

The tell tale giveaway is no between screen lines on the walls, and yes, in a recent interview with some Indian Police official, Stephen was talking to a green wall, although you could see his line of sight was actually more to the left where undoubtedly there was a real screen for him to talk to. I imagine if the BBC ever poach anyone from ITV news in the future, they might let them present bulletins from the virtual studio, to help ease the transition.
