No, it's 0200 - 0800 gmt.

Ta - and this will all move the 28th?

I think what Sally said from earlier pages was 05:00am onwards...

Possibly Newsday will move too so it then won't go to TVC until 0130GMT, gradually reducing the night hours from TVC right down to zero.

I notice now BBC2 is carrying signed programming in the mornings they've taken it off BBC1 overnights weekdays meaning once it all goes fully to NBH we'll get all overnights in HD. Talking of which, I assume even once everything is at NBH we won't see any HD output quite yet as the feed will still go via the SD galleries at TVC for addition of existing News Channel graphics??

Newsday is already at Broadcasting House, with the 0130 update being done from TVC.

That is a very unattractive block on the left of the image.

Do you think? I think it's a fantastic architectural feature.

That is also the position that the trundlecam operates on, so the set up must have crossed the rails. I hope that they got permission from the fat controller. Laughing

I think the image was taken from the trundle cam!

Can anyone shed any more light on the great clever-glass screen debate?

In the image above, I'm wondering what happened to the original floor to ceiling perspex fixture with the clever-glass in the middle. There now seems to be nothing above the screen, and the picture is so clear I'm risking a guess that it's a CSO?

Reason I say that is looking at these to shots of the screens in Studios E and C, you can clearly see the fixture is floor to ceiling and has a strip along the bottom of the projection area. The picture is also pretty washed out...

This promo shot of Studio C again shows nothing above the screen, no strip along the bottom, and a very clear picture...

Confused! Suspicious!

I thought the suggestion was the smart glass (or whatever it's called) and projector setup had been replaced by another screen, perhaps similar to the plasmas (?) used in the BBC Sports centre?

Unfortunately, there will be no Global tonight, according to my EPG... it will be World Have Your Say airing at 1500 GMT (BBC WN at 1600 GMT). Will they also have new titles? Very Happy

I was just thinking, could the 28th be the first time we have an opportunity to see BBC World News in HD in the UK? With the 0500 - 0600 hour being simulcast on BBC One & BBC One HD.

Unless they change the 5am broadcast to a simulcast of BBC World News rather than BBC News then no as it's sill going through the SD gallery in N6.

What is happening with Obama's second Inauguration? Will it be a special BBC One show, a BBC News simulcast, or will it be a HD BBC World News simulcast on BBC One HD?

I thought that might be the case, but wasn't sure.

Although last time I checked that bulletin was branded as BBC World News so I suppose it could be possible (brand wise), but maybe not technically.

Was it you who was getting restless about 'what they've done' to the smart glass earlier? The last picture you've posted shows a difference to the others; they've replaced the smart glass panel with a more opaque projector screen on a glass panel (either the same or a new one). I think it still operates in the same way (projection), they've just improved the image quality. Obviously not CSO if it's present in a photo taken by a independent camera.

From the bits and pieces I've seen, the channel now feels very studio-bound and less 'live' than it has since the mid-90s. It's amazing how much energy a working newsroom as a backdrop gives a news channel.

This would help massively...

Such an improvement! They make such a big deal about "The World's Newsroom" (and rightly so, IMO) but we really don't ever see it on air other than in the countdown or the occasional live cross.

If they centred the camera and got a bit more of the ceiling fixture in shot it'd be the perfect background for generic news bulletins. It does just as good a job of illustrating their London location and the time of day as the London skyline backdrop, whilst also bringing some much-needed 'life'.

Perhaps they're waiting until the "world's newsroom" is more full up. At the moment not everyone who should be there is there.

They're running a story about the rerecording of the countdown music, including interviews with Davids Lowe and Arnold.
